Wilmer, who goes by the name Wil, has lived in Dayton, Ohio since 1999. Wil was born in Kansas City, MO. From 1980 to 1989, he also lived on the farm his dad grew up on in western Kansas. He and his family moved back to Kansas City in 1989, and he graduated from Rockhurst High School. Wil then attended the University of Missouri - Kansas City and graduated with a degree in history.
After his undergraduate education, Wil attended the Drake University School of Law in Des Moines, Iowa. While at Drake, Wil was member of the Agricultural Law Society and a member of the Drake Journal of Agricultural Law. Wil also interned with the United States Attorney's Office for Southern Iowa and later worked for U.S. Probation and Pretrial Services until his graduation from law school.
After law school, Wil moved back to Kansas City and worked for a litigation support firm in downtown Kansas City until 1999. While working for the litigation support firm, Wil traveled extensively around the country collecting legal documents. In 1999, Wil received an offer to join LexisNexis and moved to the Dayton area. Wil was employed at LexisNexis until 2009.
Wil has practiced law since 2009 and focuses mainly on the areas of Estate Planning, Probate, Business formation, and landlord/tenant. He is a member of the Greene County Bar Association. He has served on the grievance committee, the website committee and the judiciary committee.
Wil joined the firm Hammond, Stier & Stadnicar in 2014, The firm reorganized in 2025 and Wil is a now a partner in Stier and Dechant. Wil looks forward to meeting with you and assisting you with your legal needs
